Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create a Sample & Hold circuit that will give me that 'burbling' effect and I just can't seem to get there. I'm close, but I'm getting a lot of white noise being introduced and just ruining the sound.
My goal is to have this LFO controlled, which at this point I am only assuming can be done.
I'm using the stock "Sample and Hold" module, with the Hold being controlled/activated by a "Comparator" module. This is fed signals from a couple of 'Monostable" modules, which are being activated be the LFO.
In truth, I'm not sure I know exactly what I'm a doing , but I am trying to give it a go. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained. And, I have finally gotten to the point that I'm a bit frustrated, and so thought I might ask for a bit of help with the issue. And as long as I end up with the burbling effect, then what the hey, It doesn't have to be an LFO that produces it.
If anyone can help to point me in the right direction then it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance to all, Tim

Hi,
I never made something like that, but can you post a sample and provide a schematic of what you have now? Maybe we can help out that way..

i think you'll find an example in the SE files area. you want 'random' LFO, right? > osc produces noise, into a sample and hold module, whose gate/hold...hang on, booting SE... ok, so noise goes into 'audio', and 'hold' is controlled by the main LFO osc. so if you have eg: a pulse wave selected on that, its rate will determine how often the noise level is sampled, and the 2 give this 'random' CV output. the trick is how you select the s+h mode, and what waveform this selects on your main LFO. so do this work where you have the list, with a bools to list, and associate what you want by using boolsplitters/other to combine the TWO list options(for each osc, regular waveforms, and the noise osc) - or alternatively ) find the oldschool demo prefab in the files section! i have used and modified it heavily, but i'll see if i can find the original for you..

really fffffffn arcane!!! haha with the hysterisis calculated on 'either side' comparators. this is why i did it GUI side, using bool to list, and joining the options i wanted with boolsplitters. (meh, too late tonight, i have to cook something to EAT!!!!) you'll figure it out ;-) once you get a lfo wave triggering the hold. works a treat, everything you want. (and then you can figure out dotted and triplet bpm divs, by x0.6667 and x1.5, and later limit range, with offset, and separate cv + and - polarities, sending them wherevr you want separately )

mmm you could build a stepsequencer for rythmic hold

*totally* - the 'hold' pin is best triggered by the pulse LFO, (or ramp?) so rhythmic random gate...yah gotta do that..

Cool beans guys.
Rob, actually I have quit a few prefabs that I would like to upload and share (just need to find a really good place to host them). Just curious, are custom GUI images stored in the prefad? Probably would need to be packed separate I would presume.?
KlangManipulation, you know, I believe I did put together a step sequencer already. ;-) (probably should share this one for sure). By the way, this one now has a custom GUI, pretty cool and it works, though I'm not 100% sure I did it exactly the right way.
setronic, thanks for the suggestions, I shall have to dig into some of those deeper, especially the pulse wave osc feeding the hold (for some reason that idea just had not occurred me). And the BMP syncable LFO, I already have that covered, actually you can select either synced or free running (another that needs sharing).
Before I throw this out there I'm going to try a few more things (time permitting), just to see what I can get it to do. Give me a day or two (maybe three), and I'll be back in touch, hopefully with a really cool toy to share.

OK guys and gals, The Sample and Hold prefab is pretty well complete as I can seem to get it. Meaning that it works about as well as I have been able to get it to. If anyone wants to improve it, then please feel free to do so as I'm sure it probably isn't the best it could be. Or if you have a look see a wonder why I did what I did, well then we can try and figure out just exactly that. I uploaded the archive file and shared a link in my thread here the 1.2 Prfabs section of the forum. It's the last file listed on the original post. Feel free to use it if you want, or course if you improve it and would like to share those improvements, then I certainly wouldn't mind. Enjoy!

Can someone note to me where this "files location" of prefabs is?
Thanks.
