I'm using synthedit v1.2 (32bit) and used the sample oscillator2, sample loader2 and sample loader2 GUI modules to create a synth to playback sf2 soundfont files. It works fine on a soundfont of 260Mb but when I tried to use a larger sound font of 847Mb it crashed when I started the audio engine in synthedit. The crash causes a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error window to pop up saying "SynthEdit.exe abnormal program termination". The same error occurs if you export the VST and try to use it in a sequencer. I experimented with different sized sf2 files and I would say maximum size for a soundfont is about 512Mb. If anyone knows what the maximum sf2 file size is I would be grateful if they could post a quick reply, and also if there is anyway of using soundfonts larger than that maximum. I believe the error could be something 32bit related and probably occurs in the sample loader2 module. If I remove the GUI and Oscillator modules and leave just the sample loader2 module it still crashes when starting the audio engine. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

I really don't know what the maximum size is for SF2 files. You should e-mail Jeff for that, or post this at the Yahoo SE usersgroup.
