hi, i tried to create a simple midi-out plugin with Synthedit 1.3 and exported it as VST2 version but midi isnt working.
i read the FAQ at the SE Website and there is written:
Known Issues (64-bit) 64-bit SynthEdit will export both VST2 and VST Version 3 Plugins (VST3 is the newest type of VST plugin). 32-bit SynthEdit will export only VST Version 2 plugins. 64-bit Plugins have reduced support for MIDI. Only Note, Controller and SYSEX messages can be received by a plugin, plugins do not currently send any MIDI. This is due to a limitation of the VST3 Plugin format.
so i understand that it isnt possible to export a VST3_64 with midi-out. but export VST2_64 should work, or am i wrong?

Nah, 64bit VST2 is just a wrapped VST3. Same limitations apply. Hence why it's a blanket statement "Known Issues (64-bit)".

Well, SE can't make 64 bit MIDI plug-ins because they don't exist in 64bit (VST2 or VST3 doesn't matter - internal Steinberg SDK that SE uses for 64bit is VST 3.x). Steinberg VST2 license doesn't have anything to do with it.

well, i dont have a vst2 license because i was a little bit too late to order, so they denied my request. without a vst2 license you cant offer vst2 plugins any more, even if you offer them for free. so i cant share my "midi"-plugins any more btw 64bit-vst2-midi-plugins exist and working! www.kvraudio.com/news/xfer-records-updates-cthulhu-to-1-0-9-28566i proofed it, its working with fl-studio 11_64bit & vsti (Diva)

Hi, i had an idea of a workaround for midi-out. i started trying to create a midi-out module that can directly select a midiout-port. there was a david haupt module that was doing this. after many different approaches i am very frustrated! i cant figure out how to prompt how many midiout ports are available and send it to an int-out-pin. i was trying something like this... but this seems to work only for windows desktop apps another approach did not produce an error but the portcount was always zero. i think maybe because they are in use of synthedit. did anyone know how to do that? the idea behind this aproach is to use a virtual midi cable to send midi directly to a virtual port and route it to a virtual midi-in back into the host.

ok.... my latest approach was using the virtualmidi-sdk by Tobias Erichsen. i got a little success but i came to the conclusion that it makes no sense for me... FL-Studio-11 will always receive note-on and off messages on a selected track. it would be possible for FL-12 and above because you can specify a midi-input for a single vst-instrument. maybe other daws have such a function too, i dont know. only one reason is left that makes sense for a module like this... you could fuse two own plugins and send midi data from one to another. but my coding skills sucks and i dont want to spend weeks to get a working module! so.... again i have to wait and hope steinberg will bring back midi-out compatibility in future vst3-sdk versions.

if you want to have a midi-out to send the midi data to another plugin you have to ... Bislang hatte wohl eine Minderheit der SE/SM/FS Nutzer für das SDK ... space bar clicker
