Hi, I hope you can give me some useful hints because I am getting desperate !! Since some days I started getting crashes when Reaper exits from projects using my Synthedit instruments and effects ! The strange thing is, I did not install anything new, no updates, no nothing ! This problem showed up with no apparent reason and I can't discover what caused it, even if I am 100% sure I didn't change anything in my system config ! As I said in the subject, Win 7 x64, i7, Reaper, Synthedit 1.3 x64 The crash seems related to the gui because dxgi.dll seems involved upon unloading. I tried to create a VST with Synthedit with NO GUI ELEMENTS and in fact it causes NO CRASHES at unloading. Here is the Windows crashlog:
Version=1 EventType=BEX64 EventTime=131861050961168025 ReportType=2 Consent=1 ReportIdentifier=9bde493a-e2e0-11e8-973e-7085c278b29f IntegratorReportIdentifier=9bde4939-e2e0-11e8-973e-7085c278b29f Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Nome applicazione Sig[0].Value=reaper.exe Sig[1].Name=Versione applicazione Sig[1].Value=5.9.6.0 Sig[2].Name=Timestamp applicazione Sig[2].Value=5bbbb4c2 Sig[3].Name=Nome modulo con errori Sig[3].Value=dxgi.dll_unloaded Sig[4].Name=Versione modulo con errori Sig[4].Value=0.0.0.0 Sig[5].Name=Timestamp modulo con errori Sig[5].Value=50f30fbd Sig[6].Name=Offset eccezione Sig[6].Value=000007fef81c9518 Sig[7].Name=Codice eccezione Sig[7].Value=c0000005 Sig[8].Name=Dati eccezione Sig[8].Value=0000000000000008
...desperately, I tried to disinstall and reinstall Synthedit, .NET, C++, I even disinstalled and reinstalled my GFX card drivers to no hope, the problem persists. Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated !!

If all else fails, use Windows System Restore. Might wanna try an older version of your gfx-card driver too; as you are running an unsupported OS(Win7) on your 8700k, drivers might go wonky from time to time, an older driver works better sometimes.

Thanks... yes I tried to reinstall my gfx card drivers of course but that did not help The only solution would be to reinstall the OS & everything but that is not a viable option... not now at least Indeed, Synthedit itself issues no crashes, never, it's just Reaper upon unloading of synthedit modules... but I don't think it is the case to bother Reaper developers because with 99% chances it's not their fault... Unfortunately I am aware of the possible issues of using a 8700K with Windows 7, but untile few days ago everything had always working fine ! Then... something went mad by itself, without having changed anything in my system configs or without having installed anything new, no updates, nothing... But there is to say that with Synthedit 1.3 x64 I was experiencing random and strange gui related crashes EVEN with my old machine, which was a Core2Duo... often when inserting text inside Sliders readouts I experienced crashes... my Nvidia card drivers are the latest and have always been the same... I may try to search for older ones on their web site, also I will try to recall a Windows Restore point to my latest working config if that helps... thanks anyway, I will let you know...

Hi, I have no other DAWs here to test unfortunately but that would be something to try, definitely...
Strangely enough, today the problem vanished ! And once again, I changed nothing in my system settings and I didn't install or remove anything !!! I am happy but I don't even like when troubles disappear without knowing what caused them... LOL

Ok, well good that the problem is gone now. Would be good to re-install your computer sometime.
