would like to get some opinions on this: (temp link) prototype bassline generatorsequenced VSTi: gatelength/acc/slide/semi/oct UI with a monosynth.

mmm... not really intuitiv to handle and you have to do a lot improvments. anyway its a good start. good luck with the slide

yeah yeah no labels yet you have random and clear buttons on right side. the accents aren't good yet and slide doesn't work. but the click UI does, and i think that's a really easy way of handling the note entry. i would like to do click -/+, either side, but it doesn't seem to want it, and in fact, this should not work! due to image layering. and it will be a MIDI generator. suspect you're having a bit of trouble with the transport: - there is 'constant' or 'keytrig'(midi) playback, - fixed pitch or key-transpose(note in) - continuous note pickup, or retrig/restart (with note-on) - also regular bpm clock sync or 'vary', with gives you a knob too go from half tempo to 1.5x that's the stuff at the bottom.

slide...mm it can work here, but it needs to start off the step eg: early or late, halfway, i think...
now: what would a MIDI portamento on/off message do to external devices? i've never tried that.

a 100% working "midi" slide is tricky. you have to create a "midi-legato".

what, overlapping notes? that can sound so bad, remember doing it, gave it up, nothing like inputting slides. 'd*mn, yamaha synths are no good for that either, or mono. you have to send MIDI CCs, not very immediate).
i'm thinking of creating extra steps, for an extra event. you know if you look at traffic lights at roadworks counting down...up count, down count, up, down. that's how our sequencer counters should be working, crunching along, getting a clock pulse, on both sides of the pulse. and that way you could split them too, and send them according to their polarity, to different targets.
that's why i've been curious about Daz's modules having 32 pins: is it a provision for this, or for 'wrapping' round, shifting left<>right, in some way(with duplicate event entries or something?) any idea why Daz has 32 pins?

yesss. so why not 64. or 128, for 8x .. you can do these in multiples of 16. so it could be another reason, that it allows you to a/divide the clock events/2 and, b/ could allow you to send out a separate event every other step. dunno, just off the top of my head.. up count, down count..+/- ? if you wanted to trigger/set the portamento on, early, you could do it on the offstep before..? (have to try) could always ask Daz..

i tend to like it ... very Rebirth! i do not know 1 knob (3rd at bottom right of the partern)....is it the pattern velocity?
when i use sequencing it´s easy to make a reverse .. i do not know if this might help you or not cause im a bit confused about what you wrote considering up and down but you can use an x-mix to reverse the pattern... by connecting the clock step the other way around to input B and normal to inpput A, you just need a button to reverse the whole sequence order... im not seeing here in my head how it would work step by step, but the whole order is easy : )
