Hi to all.
I have made a drum-sampler with 8 sample (wav)-loading pads.
My question is, how can I save the whole "performance" (vst parameters plus loaded wav samples)? The samples are been loaded from many different hard disks. I want to "save samples & patch" and gather them at a single location. What must be the extension for the saved file(s)? can I save the samples and the patch seperately?
An answer to ANY of the above will be appreciated, but a prefab for a SAVE and LOAD button will make me happy!
Thanx!

When using samples, I normally use a txt-list with the names (incl. full path, if possible) of the samples, and use some kind of selector for that list. The output of the list goes directly to a filenamepin on a wav-player. This way, when changing the patch, the corresponding samples are also loaded. This should also work for user-selected samples, ie. You have a user-field for inputting new paths/samplenames. As long as there is a text-field with correspondent patch-mem, It should work Best, Claus

Thank you Claus. My problem is after having loaded some samples, the user many times needs to collect all of them and save them to a new location on his hard disk for future loading. For example If I load a snare on pad 1 (loaded from soundlibrary 1), kick drum on pad 2 loaded from another hard disk with sounds, etc...How can I save the whole 8-pads kit into one location? The result will be a folder in a new location containing all the 'collected" samples (wavs) and a special kind of file for the parameters of my VST.
Thank you for your time. It's precious these days.

Do You really need to save the samples iow. need copies of them? 'Cause the easiest thing is to save a txt-file with the 8 PADs filenames. For this You'll need DHs Textarray-modules (or whoever makes arrays) - they are good for this

Thank you.
The reason anybody could need to copy the samples to a new destination directory is that sound libraries are scattered all over the computer in many different hard disks. If the user needs to take the VST to another computer, he has the hard task to search for and gather them one by one. Many times there is also the need to move our sound libraries form one location and put them all to another, and after this the synth will not load the samples. If we save a "performance" containing the samples in their original wav extension, things could be easier, and this can be an option for the user, not obligatory.
Your advice is useful for other reasons and teaches me stuff anyway!

Ok, yes, thats a good reason of course I think there is a KDL-module that is able to create new folders. I'll look into that later today, have a soundjob first. Best, Claus

That will be a help. I only have conversion modules from KDL.
