this is how 1.1 displays on my machine - because i have changed
my textpage background from white to pale grey in my desktop
preferences. it gives me a gentle grey background instead of
burning my eyes out lookng at bright white.

are using SE?(without wishing to cause offence etc) - this is the
sole reason i haven't moved on to 1.1.
don't really understand why SE had to depend on the Windows Theme.
i can get to a slightly muted offwhite before the colours flip; s'pose
i could have a separate logon with another background theme? but
SE will still give me a lary bright screen.
what other BG colours can i use without flipping to darkblue view?
any other workaround?!
