Hi All -
I used to make VSTs & VSTi's with SE back in the day (SE1.01+). I was hired to make a set of projects that needed waveform displays of samples, along with ways of manipulating the sample loop points on the display. Also important to these projects is an X-Y scope to show phase info between Left and Right channels.
I worked for weeks on these things until a good friend warned me that our employers were not answering developer's emails. To make a long story short, the company that enlisted my services went belly up and I was never paid for the work I had done. I got these projects to the Alpha stage when all things stopped. Anyway, that was back in 2008 and I had not done much in SE after that as SE was evolving into a 64bit Mac compatible platform and many of my existing modules were becoming orphaned... I stopped development in SE. That made me sad.
Now, a new player is interested in the things I started and I want to bring them into existence with a more current version of SE if possible. My main concern is that so much of my previous work used the Chris Kerry Sample modules, Sample Display modules and the third party SCOPE3 (which is different from the SE native Scope3). Does anything like these things exist in the SE1.3 world? I have not played with SE1.3 yet as I fear its installation will interfere with the SE1.01+ environment I have resurrected.
These projects will be stand alone VSTi-based programs most likely made with Savihost unless there is a new method that is better.
I won't mind if they have to built in 32bit world.
So, here are my questions:
1. What in the SE1.3 world is there that can do Sample Waveform Display?
2. Can the CK_Modules work reliably in SE1.3+ 32bit?
3. Where can I find an X-Y scope module for use in SE1.3
4. Would it be a bad idea to try to use the CK_Modules and the X-Y Scope3 module?
Thanks in advance for helping me get back on this horse. I look forward to getting back into SE and its latest incarnation!
