+1 to containers! just don't lose track of something deep
down in there you want to change often!(hey:*shortcuts* to
containers+views?..)
? go on then: what does that mean, 'zero is not zero...'
last week max says to me:
'the first one is the last, and the second is the first'..
SE mysticism?
?never used gimp
www.gimp.org/downloading..
what about things like using the Prefabs folder, to add
favorite readymades as extra insert menu selections?
shame you can't specify this folder's location -in 1.0x-
i'm wondering how i should manage it eg: update better
versions/back old ones up etc. > is it worth the hassle?
>for me, yes: the few i have added, i use regularly - but
it means going into a folder with permissions(which i can
never seem to disable, does it depend on parent folders too?)
and also keeping track of its contents in backups/reinstalls.
does it affect boot time at all? the way SE runs? anyway, very
useful feature for adding things like transparent pixel,a bool LED,
a float LED, or even the GUIList selector that only otherwise comes
in the list2(soz talking about v1.0x )control prefab, little things
so far..i want to use it for loading sections of things - but these
change/improve/evolve. some would be nice: i try to chuck
'extracts' from projects into a junk container, and i periodically
delete these, backing them up as 'spares' or 'extras' prefabs.
sometimes they are useful for remembering things or finding
a method after screwing the new version up. quite often they
collect together a bunch of things you wanted to look at, or
some sems, or they are ready mades needing to be backed
up as separate prefabs. > i can't really say if it is a good way:
it chucks out a load of file versions to keep track of, that then
need ordering in some way..eg:'time to do some tidying up!...'
nb: strange: if you containerize the GUIList selector, and save it
by itself as a container with views on, it reloads from Prefabs as
just the module, no container...(how about that)
